Pain relief hacks

I tend not to offer too much advice when it comes to pain management as it is such an individual thing, but I wanted to share what helps me. Chronic pain is challenging, and while these hacks won’t eliminate it, they can help alleviate the discomfort and make daily activities more manageable. Here are some of my top pain relief tools:

The Humble Tennis Ball

A simple and cost-effective solution for self-massage, helping to relieve tight muscles and ease pain.

Back and neck Massager

This massager features heated functionality and is ideal for easing knots and muscle tension. A great alternative for those who struggle to use massage guns.

Topical Balms & Gels

There are lots of topical pain relief products in the market and I’ve probably tried them all; warming, cooling, CBD etc . But my favourite is Biofreeze, especially with their convenient roll-on design that prevents mess and tingly fingers from application.

Biowavego

A powerful alternative to TENS machines, Biowavego targets pain at the nerve level and can even be covered by some insurance plans in the USA. I find it especially helpful for nerve pain.

Supports

A have a wide variety of supports for every area of my body to help stabilize joints and provide relief during pain flare-ups or strenuous activities. I sometimes use KT tape but it causes some issues with my skin so don’t use it often but it is extremely effective. My favourite supports including for hips and shoulders are from DMO Worldwide.

Mobility Aids

Essential for reducing joint pressure, mobility aids like walking sticks provide added support and reduce pain during movement.

Hot and cold therapies

Hot water bottles, heated blankets, and ice packs can help manage pain through thermal therapy. Use them to soothe aching muscles and joints.
